The Inspiration
Ink & Kin Co. began with Grandma Walker.
She spent the last decade of her life in a beautiful senior living community—one filled with kind people, full calendars, and little moments that made each day feel meaningful. She’d tell us stories about ice cream socials, visiting musicians, and the field trips out shopping. There was always something going on, always someone to talk to. But what stood out most were the days she received mail. Not the insurance statements or doctor bills—but something just for her. A card. A letter. Something thoughtful. Something cute. Something that said, “I’m thinking of you.”
Those were the days she lit up a little more.
Those were the stories she brought to the dinner table.
Those were the moments that turned into conversations, connections, and smiles shared with others.
And it made us realize something simple, but easy to overlook: So many of the people we love aren’t living in the digital world we move through every day.
They’re not scrolling.
They’re not texting.
They’re not flooded with notifications.
But they are opening their mail. And when something meaningful shows up—something tangible, personal, and unexpected—it carries weight in a way a message on a screen never quite can. That’s why we created Ink & Kin Co.
To make it easy to send something real.
To help you stay connected in a way that feels human.
To turn an ordinary day into something worth talking about.
